Our compass points west

A lot has happened since the last post! Rob interviewed at Yantis Acoustical Design an acoustical consulting firm in Seattle and was given a job offer he couldn’t refuse. :) So we will be headed west in July after I finish up work here at Hopkins. Its sure to be a busy time with the wedding, honeymoon, moving, and start of a new job for Rob all within 30 days! We’ll spend part of the week leading up to the wedding looking for apartments.

The transition has already begun as Rob just graduated with his Master of Arts degree last night from the Peabody Institute. The real excitement though was a commencement speech by Quincy Jones.

Can you see the video below? If so, it may work out for us to broadcast our Wedding LIVE so that friends and family who are not able to make it to Seattle can still participate! Here’s to hoping I can get it running successfully!

UPDATE: We’ve tested it with several people and are finding this method to be a success! So if you are able to watch videos on YouTube (it uses nearly the same player) and will not be able to make it to the wedding, you’ll be able to watch the wedding LIVE right here!

A world of unknowns!

Hello again! As of last week I have been officially accepted into every graduate program I applied for! While this is a very exciting thing, it again leaves us with many options! We look forward to Rob’s upcoming interviews to help shed some directional light for our path. I was able to spend a wonderful week (this past week) with my mom and sister who helped me get a good portion of invitations addressed and sent…you should be receiving those soon! I also received the good news that my dress arrived, and was able to have my first fitting with my mom and sister there too! Things continue to progress despite the ever increasing stress load upon us both :) I will get the opportunity to taste some food and cake for the reception this coming Friday and Rob will be traveling to Seattle for a job interview this Thursday and Friday too! We look forward to this busy and exciting week and thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers in all of this as well.

More Updates!

Check out the Accommodations section under “Wedding Details” if you will be an out of town guest - we have finally made some updates!! Also, as many of you know I am applying for graduate school beginning this fall, as of this week I have been accepted to the program at University of Maryland!! I am awaiting letters from two more universities before we will be able to make our final destination decision, but it’s a relief to know I will have this as an option. :)
